MODEL BUILDING TIPS

This model will require more than one sitting to build it. We advise to pause between different stages as you work, especially when you come to gluing. The white glue softens the paper and it may lead to misshapen parts if you do not allow them to dry well before proceeding further with assembling. Click here to watch our paper model building tips.

Give yourself enough time to enjoy the process and achieve the best result!

ABOUT THIS LANDMARK

Ventspils Castle, located in the town of Ventspils, Latvia, is a significant historical landmark with a rich and varied history. The castle, also known as the Livonian Order Castle, was originally built by the Livonian Order of Knights in the 13th century, making it one of the oldest medieval fortresses in Latvia.

The castle features a robust, square layout with imposing walls and defensive towers, characteristic of the military architecture of the time.

Through its 700 year history, it has been used as a fortress, residence, garrison, school, military base, and prison. In 1995 the castle was restored to its 19th-century appearance and converted into a museum.
